AbstractAbstract
[en] 1354 adults were questioned in the south west of England by a team of trained field interviewers. The aim of the survey, which was undertaken in consultation with the Central Electricity Generating Board, was to provide an account of the distribution of attitudes about nuclear power for generating electricity, beliefs and knowledge held about the industry, risks and benefits associated with the technology and views about the consultation procedures. The sampling location and procedures are presented in the appendices. The results are summarized at the beginning. Full details of the questions and responses are then given. (U.K.)
