AbstractAbstract
[en] A method of electron beam energy spectrum measurement, based on determining the parameters of electromagnetic radiation pulses induced in the process of beam interaction with a medium is suggested. The device, realizing the given method, consists of a set of dielectric slaowing-down structures, made of materials with different dielectric constants. The slowing-down structures are alternated with SHF coupling devices and coordinated loads. SHF coupling devices are connected with the detection unit, which is connected with the data processing unit. Dielectric slowing-downstructures are located in waveguides. During electron interaction with the material of slowingdown structures a spontaneous Chelerenkov radiation appears. This radiation dose rate depends on geometric dimensions and dielectric constants of slowing-down structures and beam energy spectrum. The level of the dose rate is measured after each of the structures using the SHF coupling devices the detection unit and the data processing unit. Thus, according to the measured values of Cherenkov radiation dose rate, the energy spectrum of an electron beam is determined. The method suggested ensures the dose rate accuracy measurement accuracy. Besides, since the Cherenkov radiation dose rate and, consequently, electron energy losses are not considerable, the beam after measurements is practically un disturbed. The use of the device described permits to conduct remote measurements and to automate data processing
