AbstractAbstract
[en] A drift wave turbulence model is used to compute the scaling and magnitude of central electron temperature and confinement time of tokamak plasmas. The results are in accord with experiment. Application to ignition experiments shows that high density (1 to 2) . 1015 cm-3, high field, B/sub T/ > 10 T, but low temperature T approx. 6 keV constitute the optimum path to ignition
