[en] To prepare electrochemically sodium hexatelluride containing no other polyforms, and to simplify the procedure it is proposed to use dieoxigenized 0.1-0.2 M sodium hydroxide solution as a sodium-containing compound and alkaline solution. The reaction is performed at a room temperature by the method of internal electrolysis in the diaphragm electrolizer with mercury cathode and anode of sodium amalgam from 1.1 V cathode potential relative to the saturated calomel electrode to 1.9 V relative to saturated calomel electrode. Current efficiency is 100%
