AbstractAbstract
[en] Crystal structures of α and β phases of quartz are studied, employing neutron multiple diffraction as a method of analysis. Theoretical multiple diffraction patterns in a many-beam case were determined by a computer program which calculates intensities of beams as sums of Taylor's series expansions, retaining terms up to a order n. Experimental 'umweg' and transmitted beam patterns were obtained for the 00.1 primary reflection of α and β phases of quartz. To calculate α - quartz multiple diffraction intensities it was necessary to determine the Dauphine twinning fraction for the crystal after having passed by the β-phase. For the two models of β-quartz a better agreement between experimental and calculated integrated intensities was found for the disordered structure model based on split-half-oxigen positions. Estudam-se as estruturas cristalinas das fases alfa e beta do quartzo, empregando-se difracao multipla de neutrons como metodo de analise. Diagramas teoricos de difracao multipla, em um caso de muitos feixes foram determinados por um programa de computador que calcula as intensidades dos feixes como somas de expansoes em series de Taylor, retendo termos ate uma ordem n. Foram obtidos diagramas experimentais 'umweg' e do feixe transmitido, com a reflexao primaria 0.1 das fases alfa e beta do quartzo. A fim de calcular as intensidades de difracao multipla do quartzo-α foi necessario determinar a fracao de geminamento Dauphine do cristal, apos este ter passado pela fase β. Entre os dois metodos da fase β uma melhor concordancia entre intensidades experimentais e calculadas foi achada para o modelo de estrutura desordenada, baseada em posicoes de meia-ocupacao para os atomos de oxigenio.
