[en] This paper describes the experiences of the International Fusion Superconducting Magnet Test Facility (IFSMTF), formerly called the Large Coil Test Facility, with regard to the use of Kapton insulated cable for high-voltage instrumentation within the IFSMTF vacuum vessel. Initial high-potential tests performed on the General Dynamics electrical system were disappointing and led to a general review and subsequent change of the philosophy and technology associated with the use of Kapton insulated cable
