AbstractAbstract
[en] The fuel surveillance programs conducted jointly by the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Electricite de France (EDF), FRAGEMA and WESTINGHOUSE have provided fuller knowledge of cladding resistance to external corrosion. Confirmation has been provided, up to rod burnups of 55000 MWd/tU, that oxidation and hydriding were acceptable. Wide scatter in behavior was observed. Specific analysis to provide understanding of this scatter were therefore launched. The fuel surveillance program is continuing. In particular, a crud and oxide layer measurement program is planned for 1300 MW and load follow reactors
