AbstractAbstract
[en] Oxidative dissolution of plutonium dioxide with electrogenerated Silver(II) was undertaken first at analytical scale in order to emerge the parameters controlling this dissolution process and to prove the feasibility of that technique at 300 grams scale of material. The influence of the following parameters: mass of PuO2, current density, total concentration of silver ion, nitric acid concentration, temperature, agitation efficiency on the rate of PuO2 dissolution was studied. The results demonstrate that: the limiting step of the dissolution process is the electrogeneration of Silver(II), the dissolution of PuO2 can be realized with a good current efficiency, the best temperature range is: 30+-100C, the optimum HNO3 concentration is 4 to 6 M, the Pu(VI) solution up to 500 g.l-1 can be prepared. A six liters capacity thermostated glass electrolyzer was built including an anodic compartment equipped with a 1000 cm2 cylindrical platinum grid electrode and a tantalum propeller, a cathodic compartment consisting in a 0.2 liter capacity aluminium silicate diaphragm with a tantalum rod cathode. La dissolution oxydante du bioxide de plutonium par l'argent(II) electrogenere a ete entreprise d'abord a l'echelle analytique pour determiner les parametres du procede et la faisabilite sur 300 g. On etudie l'influence de la masse de PuO2, de la densite de courant, de la concentration en ions Ag et en acide nitrique, de la temperature et de l'agitation sur la vitesse de dissolution. Les resultats montrent que la dissolution est limitee par l'electrogeneration de Ag(II), l'efficacite en courant est bonne, la temperature optimale est 300C+-100C, la concentration optimale en HNO3 est 4 a 6M et que l'on peut preparer une solution jusqu'a 500 g/l de Pu. Un electrolyseur en verre de 6l et thermostate a ete realise, il comprend une anode cylindrique de platine, un agitateur de tantale, un diaphragme de silicate d'aluminium et une cathode en tantale.
