[en] A device for nuclear reactor emergency protection against power level overshoot has been described. The device consists of power meter, shapers of warning and emergency signals, set-point device and emergency signal device, set-point switch unit button, reference voltage source, power meter range switch and delay unit. To widen functional possibilities of the device pulse shaper and power meter range switch, the outlet of which is connected to pulse shaper inlet, are introduced into it. Besides, a delay unit the inlet of which is connected to the outlet of pulse shaper, is introduced into emergency signal shaper. The device described can operate with any power meter, both with wide-range logarithmic and with linear one, which has a range switch. The device operates with fast-response shaper, without delay in emergency signal shaping. The use of the device suggested permits to increase nuclear safety and to facilitate the operator work, as it excludes a possibility of error with the change in emergency signal set-points during transition from one range of power measrement to another
