AbstractAbstract
[en] A prefabricated compact is proposed to be formed of spherical particles that were produced by hardening of drops at temperatures >1000C and by subsequent thermal treatment at 200-8550C. The basic solution is an aqueous nitrate solution of the fission products which a hardenable synthetic resin has been added to. The prefabricated compacts are percussion-compressed in a swage at temperatures >15000C in less than 100 milliseconds. The examples describe in detail fuel pellets of UO2, UO2xThO2, UO'xPuO2 and UC.
