AbstractAbstract
[en] The waste carbon dioxide is acted upon by the liquid phase of recycled eluates after uranium separation, by ammonia and possibly by sodium carbonate as well. The ammonium carbonate and possibly sodium carbonate thus formed is returned for alkaline eluate processing. This provides savings of sodium carbonate and ammonia which are added to the elution solution while also improving the elution process rate and the impact on the environment. The equipment consists of eluate processing units connected in series to an absorption column in which absorption takes place of carbon dioxide and ammonia by the depleted elution solution during counter-current passage.
