[en] The safety equipment consists in a storage tank with a concentrated solution of a chemical neutron absorber and an interconnect pipe for forced discharge of the absorber from the tank into the reactor in case of a loss of coolant accident. The designed device increases reactor subcriticality during post-accident flooding of the reactor core with hot water from the secondary circuit. The equipment amounts to a new independent system of reactor shutdown fundamentally different from the mechanical system of solid absorbers. (J.C.)
