[en] The GENVAP code was developed to calculate the thermal and hydrodynamic behavior of liquid metal heated once-through steam generators. This paper discusses its scope as well as the fundamental equations and the solution method used. Calculated results and experimental findings are compared for the depressurization of a Super Phenix 1 steam generator mockup. (author)
