AbstractAbstract
[en] This report describes the 3D-SEEP computer code and presents the direction to use the code effectively. 3D-SEEP calculates the saturated-unsaturated time dependent or steady state flow of groundwater in permeable geologic media for the safety evaluation of nuclear waste disposal. 3D-SEEP is based on the 3-dimensional Galerkin finite element method. This allows the modeling of complex geometrical shapes and complicated patterns of geologic media. The flow is modeled by single phase flow governed by Darcy's law, and the simplified double porosity model is introduced to consider fractured media. This code can handle non-uniform flow regions having irregular boundaries and arbitrary degree of local anisotropy. (author)
