AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper describes measurements of gas densities in UF free jets expanding from converging nozzles into a vacuum. These densities are deduced from measured intensities of laser photons Rayleigh scattered by the gas. The nozzle Reynolds number ranges from 1150 to 9200 degrees. Axial distances from the nozzle as large as 25 throat diameters are covered. Measured densities are in good agreement with those predicted on the basis of inviscid-flow method of characteristics calculations
