[en] The temperature dependence of resistivity and thermoelectric power in Ag/sub 1-x/Cd/sub x/ alloys is studied in the temperature range 65 to 225 K to understand the nature of martensite transformation and associated shape memory effect in these alloys. The effect of thermal cycling on hysteresis in resistivity curves is investigated. Both, the resistivity and thermoelectric power studies suggest the existence of premartensite effects in this system. (author)
