AbstractAbstract
[en] The author considers platelet kinetics under the three headings of platelet distribution, platelet survival, and platelet destruction or consumption. Discussion of platelet distribution concentrates on the pooling of platelets diseased organs, particularly the spleen, lungs, and liver. The subheading of platelet life span concerns itself primarily with mathematical analysis of the healthy platelet's survival. Platelet destruction involves both physiological and pathological causes. The author stresses the obvious overlapping of these three categories which he finds useful for the sake of descriptive convenience
