AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper provides field, petrographic, whole-rock Rb-Sr isotope, and geochemical data for four intrusive granitoid units from southern Natal and represents the first report of a continuing investigation of south-central Natal. Rb-Sr isotope data indicate that these granitoids were formed in the period 1011 to 859 Ma. The youngert age, dating the crystallization of the Bomela charnokite, indicates that this portion of the Namaqua-Natal Mobile Belt was active for longer than previously thought. Rb, Sr, and 87Sr/86Sr data for the four granitoid units and the Leisure Bay Granulites are presented
