AbstractAbstract
[en] For the first time the positron lifetimes in thallium have been measured as a function of temperature in the whole range from 80 K to the melting point. Above T/sub t/ = 356 K positron trapping in thermally generated vacancies could be detected. The vacancy formation enthalpy was found to be 0.46 eV in α-Tl. The transition from the α to the β phase at 507 K manifested itself in a significant decrease in the mean lifetime
