AbstractAbstract
[en] Using mossbauer effect and x-ray diffraction investigated the structure of Ti/sub 0.51/(Cu/sub 1-x/Fe/sub x/) and its hydrides. The authors confirmed the crystalline structures of the alloys could present phase transitions for x≥0.2, namely, in that cases the structures would form the mixtures of γ-TiCu-like and TiFe-like from single γ-TiCu-like. The activation property of TiCu, as a hydrogen energy storage material, is improved by putting some iron into the alloy. Ti/sub 0.51/(Cu/sub 1-x/Fe/sub x/) hydrides posses strong paramagtism. Some explanations are given on the experimental results
