AbstractAbstract
[en] In the last few years, we treated 6 breast cancer patients with breast conservation. Two patients were T1N0M0, and three were T2N0M0. They received tumor excision and irradiation to the breast with or without regional irradiation. Three patients underwent axillary dissection, two with complete dissection and one with Level I-II dissection. The other patient had inflammatory breast carcinoma with fixed axillary and supraclavicular metastases. She had combined treatment of irradiation, chemotherapy and hyperthermia. She was the only patient who has relapsed in the bones. All patients have experieneced no local or regional relapses. Functional outcomes were excellent in all patients. Cosmetic results were also excellent except for the patient with inflammatory carcinoma, who however, was satisfied with the results. On the basis of these results, and from review of the literature, we reemphasize several practical points for execution of breast conservation treatment. (author)
