AbstractAbstract
[en] The control system of the RIKEN heavy-ion linear accelerator (RILAC) has been designed and constructed for remote and centralized control and for monitoring of accelerator devices and beam characteristics. The controlled devices include an injector with an ion source, radio-frequency systems, magnet power supplies, vacuum and cooling systems, and beam diagnostic systems. The control system has a data acquisition system using a minicomputer with an HPIB interface, which handles data input and output with the accelerator devices, transfers data between the accelerator vault and the control room, displays necessary information on the operator console, and performs various calculations and automatic sequence processing, according to the commands from operators. By using standardized circuits and digitizing the data transfer, the system exhibits high reliability and flexibility. Hardware aspects of the control system are described. (author)
