[en] The state and prospects of the development of nuclear power in France the base of which are the PWR type reactors are briefly described. Main characteristics of 900, 1300 and 1450 MWe units and the list of all French NPP's operating and under construction are given. The recently developed system for reactor control permits to vary the power up to 5% per minute in the range from 30 to 100%. It is planned in 1991 to start NPP operation with 1450 MWe PWR. The construction of a steam generator and new type reactor as well as nuclear steam sypply system arrangement with this type of reactor are presented
