AbstractAbstract
[en] Today neutron activation analysis (NAA) is widely applied to the investigation of biomedical, environmental, industrial, geological and archaeological problems. Due to its sensitivity, precision and accuracy it is considered an ideal method for the determination of a large number of trace elements in several materials. The paper presents a review of research and development of NAA methods as well as examples of applications of NAA in medicine, environmental studies and archaeology, taken from work carried out over the last 22 years at the Radioanalytical Laboratory of the Department of Chemistry at the Nuclear Research Centre for the Physical Sciences Democritos.
