[en] The installation consists of a large-area semiconductor diode with an efficient area of 100 to 4,000 mm² which is placed in a shielding ring. The maximum response of the diode to impinging ionizing radiation is in the line normal to its front surface. Generated current or voltage is applied to the respective meter. The diode together with the shielding ring is rotary which allows to record the intensity of radiation impinging from various directions, to measure the radiation field and to determine exposure rates. The device may also be used for locating a source over which control has been lost. (Ha)
