[en] I made this visit as a member of the US ITER Plasma Facing Components Design Team and as the present WBS Manager of the Vacuum Vessel and previous WBS Manager of the First Wall and Divertor for the Compact Ignition Tokamak. The main purpose of my trip was to present a communication on these CIT systems and another one on CIT In-Vessel Remote Maintenance to the US-Japan Workshop, and to participate in the workshop. The visits to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and to JAERI's Naka and Tokai laboratories were part of the workshop program. They focus respectively on new, ceramic-rotor turbomolecular vacuum pumps; the JT-60 Tokamak and the Superconducting Magnet Laboratory; and the JFT-2M Tokamak and the Tritium Processing Laboratory
