AbstractAbstract
[en] In the last year progress in studies of transport through accelerator phase space due to separatrix crossing, use of Hamilton-Jacobi methods to obtain invariant surfaces of accelerators, and analysis of accelerators via closed orbits has been made. The diffusion due to separatrix crossing has been shown to be within a factor of two of the random phase prediction. A two-dimensional Hamilton-Jacobi solver developed in the last year will be improved by including the Broyden update method for calculating the Jacobian. Optimization of accelerator systems using the residue minimization technique has begun. 29 refs., 6 figs
