AbstractAbstract
[en] The Engineering Analysis Department at Sandia National Laboratories has developed a three-dimensional transient solid dynamics computer code, PRONTO 3D, that can simulate and analyze radioactive material packaging impact and puncture events. Sphere and cask impact example problems demonstrated the contact surface algorithm and other aspects of the code PRONTO 3D has proven to be a powerful tool for analyzing problems in impact dynamics, rock blasting, and accident analyses. 4 refs., 5 figs
