[en] Local dosimetry represents a fundamental method of controlling the observance of technical radiation protection requirements for the use of X-ray equipment. First measurements are already taken at an early stage, that is, following the manufacturing of radiological equipment. Further measurements are performed after installation, before putting into operation, after maintenance and repair work as well as during in-service inspections.
