AbstractAbstract
[en] Losses in stored dried fish due to insect damage in tropical regions clearly demonstrate the need for a disinfestation treatment. Radiation disinfestation is competitive in energy requirements with those related to fumigation with organic chemicals or with a heat treatment process. In the long term, radiation energy costs will remain relatively stable as fuel energy costs rise. Residues of organic fumigants also pose health problems. (author). 15 refs, 4 tabs
