AbstractAbstract
[en] This document describes the application and use of the computer program RAFSCATT (Release Rates As a Function of Solubility, Containment, And Water Travel Time). RAFSCATT enables the user to calculate the Maximum Permissible Release Rate (MPR) from the engineered system of a repository. The MPR may be calculated for a user-selected combination of containment times (radionuclide inventories), radionuclide solubilities, radionuclide retardation factors, groundwater flow rates through the repository, groundwater travel times to the accessible environment, and radionuclide release limits to the accessible environment. In this manner, the sensitivity of MPR to the geochemical behavior of radionuclides and hydrologic conditions may be determined. 1 fig., 1 tab
