AbstractAbstract
[en] A computer program, THCVP, simulates coupling between advective/diffusive solute transport and chemical reactions, coupling of the reactions to heat transport, and feedback from precipitation/dissolution reactions to fluid flow. A simple simulation of transport of dissolved silicic acid along a gradient of temperature shows how precipitation of quartz at low temperatures can drastically reduce advective transport of all solution components including trace contaminants. 18 refs., 4 figs
