AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the theory developed for the multiple diffraction of neutrons in mosaic crystals, approximate intensity solution have been derived allowing the calculation of multiple diffraction patterns when several (n >= 4 ) beams contribute to the phenomenon. The solutions are appropriate for the calculation of both primary and transmitted beam patterns when high absorption and high secondary extinction are present. A computer program (MULTI) using these solutions has been prepared and applied in a parallel study of the beta-phase of quartz employing neutron multiple diffraction as a method of analysis. In this application, n assumed values which frequently surpassed 20 beams. In spite of the large number of beams participating in the phenomenon, a good agreement between experimental and calculated patterns has been observed. (author)

Baseado na teoria desenvolvida para a difracao multipla de neutrons em cristais mosaicos, solucoes aproximadas da intensidade foram deduzidas permitindo o calculo de padroes de difracao multipla quando varios feixes contribuem para o fenomeno. As solucoes sao apropriadas para o calculo de ambos os padroes de feixe primario e transmitido quando a alta absorcao e alta extincao secundaria estao presentes. Um programa computacional (MULTI) usando estas solucoes foi preparado e aplicado em um estudo paralelo da fase beta do quartzo empregando difracao multipla de neutrons como metodo de analise. Nesta aplicacao assumiram-se n valores que frequentemente ultrapassam 20 feixes. Apesar do grande numero de feixes participando deste fenomeno, um bom acordo entre os padroes experimental e calculado foi observado. (M.C.K.)Secondary Subject
