AbstractAbstract
[en] A modified steady method for determining the macroscopic thermal neutron absorption cross section of small samples 500 cm3 in volume is described. The method uses a moderating block of paraffin, Pu-Be neutron source emitting 1.1x106 n.s.-1, SNM-14 counter and ordinary counting equipment. The interval of cross section from 2.6 to 1.3x104 (10-3 cm2g-1) was measured. The experimental data are described by calculation formulae. 7 refs.; 4 figs
