AbstractAbstract
[en] The author reviews the theoretical and experimental results on positron production in heavy ion collisions. After a discussion of the quasi-atomic picture, the possible observation of the axion, and the inverse Bhabha scattering, the positron spectrometer EPOS of the GSI Darmstadt is described. Thereafter the experimental results are presented. (HSI)
