AbstractAbstract
[en] (n,2n) reaction cross sections have been determined for 238U and 232Th by using the activation method. Neutrons were produced in D-T reaction by bombarding a TiT target with analyzed deuteron beam from a Cockcroft-Walton accelerator. Neutron energy was varied by changing the emission angle to the deuteron beam. The activities of the 237U and 231Th residual nuclei were measured by a Ge(Li) and a HP Ge gamma-spectrometer, respectively. Several standard reactions were used for the determination of the neutron flux density. An overall precision of 3.5 - 4.5% was estimated and a 1.4 - 3.5% reproducibility was achieved. Comparison of the recent results to literature data and a brief analysis of the monitor reactions are given. (author). 48 refs, 3 figs, 7 tabs
