AbstractAbstract
[en] The possibility of significant investigations of the electron neutrino mass from the shape of the bremsstrahlung spectra accompanying electron capture is considered. Some of the important recent theoretical understanding of the IBEC process are reviewed. The advantage of studying the bremsstrahlung accompanying low energy electron capture processes is stressed. Results from studies of three candidate isotopes are given. Prospects and limitations afforded by the developing bolometric/calorimetric photon spectrometers are indicated. (author)
