AbstractAbstract
[en] A study and analysis is made of α-cluster states in the nucleus 16O above the second excited state of the 12C nucleus. The reduced widths are determined for most of these states, and it is found that these states form rotational bands of positive and negative parity with moments of inertia quite close to those for rotational bands of the α-cluster states above the ground state of the 12C core. The single-particle (proton) states above the second excited state of the 12C nucleus are also investigted. The excitation functions for elastic and inelastic proton scattering on 12C have been measured, and the angular distributions of protons have been investigated in the energy region where the states with a structure of interest were expected. It is shown that the 12C core in the second excited state associates much more readily with an α cluster than with a proton, and this fact is apparently a reflection of the specific structure of this core
