AbstractAbstract
[en] Collinear fast beam laser spectroscopy has been carried out at on-line mass separators to measure changes in the nuclear charge radii of short-lived isotopes. On the one hand the study of neutron rich isotopes provided data for Kr (A = 88 and 90), and Ba (A = 139 to 142, and A = 144). On the other hand the study of neutron deficient isotopes reveals similar nuclear structure information. The measured changes with neutron number of the nuclear charge radii of the various elements are compared with the results of the nuclear droplet model. In addition, an unusually large specific isotope shift was observed in the optical spectrum of Kr 2 and is explained using multi-configuration Hartree Fock theory
