AbstractAbstract
[en] Performance assessment methodology has been developed for shallow-land disposal of low-level radioactive wastes. Exposure scenarios involved are an operational exposure scenario, a ground-water migration scenario and a site re-use scenario. The methodology is based on generic models, and is designed to evaluate possible radiological consequences in a term of effective dose equivalent. The results of the application of the methodology to a generic site reveal that an engineered disposal system considered here as shallow land burial facilities has sufficient containment for most exposure pathways postulated. 3 fig., 3 tabs
