AbstractAbstract
[en] Over the last twelve years, several models have been developed to simulate the transport of radionuclides in the environment of a radioactive waste repository: - continuous equivalent porous media flow and transport models using the finite element method in 1, 2 or 3 dimensions and taking into account various coupled mechanisms; - discontinuous stochastic fracture network models in 3 dimensions representing flow, transport, matrix diffusion, heat flow and mechanical stress; - geochemical models representing interactions between transported elements and a solid matrix; - transport process models coupling non dominant phenomena such as thermo-diffusion or thermo-gravitation. This paper reviews the role that each of these models can play in safety analyses. 3 refs

Au cours des douze dernieres annees, plusieurs modeles ont ete developpes pour simuler le transport des radionucleides dans l'environnement d'un depot de dechets radioactifs: - modeles de milieu poreux continu equivalent pour l'ecoulement et le transport utilisant la methode des elements finis a 1, 2 ou 3 dimensions et prenant en compte differents mecanismes couples; modeles discontinus de reseaux aleatoires de fractures a 3 dimensions representant l'ecoulement, le transport, la diffusion dans la matrice, l'ecoulement de chaleur et les contraintes mecaniques: - modeles geochimiques representant les reactions entre les elements transportes et la matrice solide; - modeles thermodynamiques couplant des phenomenes de transfert non dominants tels que thermo-diffusion ou thermo-gravitation.
