AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper summarizes the report of an international expert group, whose objectives were to provide information on present electricity generation technologies and available options in the light of their economic, environmental and technological characteristics to assist those involved in planning and decision-making in the electricity sector. The electric supply sector is seeing the emerging availability of a wide variety of different fuel supplies. Market forces must determine the most viable technologies, and changing environmental requirements must also be taken into account. No single approach is likely to be the most appropriate for the needs and resources of different nations, or even for different regions of the same nation
