AbstractAbstract
[en] To investigate the role of cerebral hemodynamics in the pathophysiological mechanisms of leuko-araiosis (LA) the authors made SPECT measurements of regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) in 30 patients with LA on magnetic resonant imaging. Also cerebral vascular reactivity to changes in arterial carbon oxide tension and blood pressure was studied. Changes in rCBF during slow wave sleep were studied and compared with those changes during upright posture. The SPECT measurement of rCBF was performed by using N-isopropyl I-123 p-iodo-amphetamine or technetium 99m hexamethylpropylene amine oxime. (author). 3 refs.; 1 tab
