[en] This paper presents results from a series of inclusive (e, e) experiments with 2H, 3H, 3He, and 4He targets at Bates. Data for the quasielastic peak and Δ excitation peak in the range of momentum transfer 200 - 700 Me/V/c will be emphasized. For the quasielastic peak, separations into longitudinal and transverse response functions are available for all targets at 200 - 550 MeV/c. The data are interpreted in terms of the Coulomb sum rule and the degree to which a quasielastic reaction mechanism for the response is accurate
