AbstractAbstract
[en] The R-matrix method is used to calculate cross sections for the electron excitation of boron. Results are presented for calculations in which eight states (n = 2 and n = 3 states) are included as target states. The calculated cross sections for the transitions 2s22p 2Po -2s23s 2S and 2s22p 2Po -2s2p22D are approximately 5.7 and 3.9 times smaller than the experimental results of previous authors but providing the cross sections are suitably normalized, the energy dependencies in the cross sections are similar to our results.
