AbstractAbstract
[en] An amorphous thin layer of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (BSCCO) about 1500 Angstrom in thickness has been deposited on a (001)MgO thin foil by RF magnetron sputtering. The inetics of the growth of BSCCO epitaxy on (001) MgO and accompanying microstructural changes have been investigated by examining the same region of a thin foil repeatedly in a transmission electron microscope with intermittent annealings in a diffusion furnace. The initial stage of epitaxial growth was monitored. The phase transformation between superconducting and semiconducting was observed. Possible effect of interface energy on the epitaxial growth of oxide films on (001)MgO is discussed
