[en] Understanding the rich and diverse aspects underlying the physics of nuclear structure requires a variety of experimental techniques. In our laboratory, we have concentrated on experimental techniques using light-ion probes and isotopes that are technically difficult to fabricate into targets. In particular, our studies of p-, d-, and t-induced nuclear reactions on the radioactive targets of ^152,154Eu and ¹⁴⁸Gd have illuminated some very specific and very interesting features of nuclear structure near the N = 89 shape-transition region
