[en] In the present communication a new mechanism of the absorption edge shifting effect is proposed that is due to the exchange interaction between charge carriers in CdTe layers and localized spin momenta in the Cd1-xMnxTe layers. Such a coupling in the presence of an external magnetic field of direct current will lead to the Zeeman splitting of spin subbands also in non-magnetic CdTe layers giving rise to the described shifts of the absorption spectrum to lower energies.
