[en] This is a review of recent developments in the field of the history of technology, infused as it is by the extension of the sociology of science to the sociology of technology. However, this review is directed at the rather ambitious task of outlining the methodological precepts for studying the advent of the discourse of modern and appropriate technologies in India. Hence it is a review that seeks to delineate an approach that would circumvent some of the traditional difficulties with the history of technology, that will be discussed ahead. (author). 23 refs
