AbstractAbstract
[en] The results presented in this chapter confirm that it is possible to describe a tunnel junction of small size as a quantum particle with finite mass, moving in the potential field U(φ) and interacting with a thermal bath. The experiments on resonance stimulation of the decay of a metastable state, as well as the studies of the lifetime of a metastable state at low temperatures, confirm most vividly the possibility of such a description.
